Principal and Founder

Overview

Eco Marketing was founded to bring together my sales,

marketing and business development expertise, and my

passion for the environment.  With over 25 years of

experience selling and marketing both engineering and

high tech solutions, I have put several startups on

the map – helping to grow one company from 10 to 1000

employees in 5 years. 

Under my direction at IBM (where I worked for 10 years), the global market for IBM’s green data center and energy efficiency services for mid-sized businesses grew by over 125% in one year.  Plus, an unprecedented 70% of clients of IBM’s Scalable Modular Data Center, an energy efficient solution, became references!

I hold a BA, cum laude, from Wellesley College (double major in French and Political Science), a Certificat de Science Politique from the Institut de Science Politique in Paris, and an MBA from Boston University. I'm working on a certificate in Sustainable Business.

Fluent in French and Spanish, I also speak some Mandarin Chinese.

Smart energy

My work in smart energy began with energy efficiency in the data center.  I was a mentor for a finalist and a semi-finalist in MIT’s Ignite Clean Energy competition for cleantech startups, a member of the Lexington Global Warming Action Coalition, and a member of the Lexington Energy Conservation Committee to improve energy efficiency in Lexington, MA.

Eco Marketing clients include: a demand response provider improving the smart grid in New York, a compressed air energy storage startup, a few solar PV companies, a provider of home and business heating efficiency, and the Town of Lexington, MA.

Smart marketing

My peers and clients view me as a “marketing leader” who is both “strategic and tactical.” They describe me as "an innovative marketeer with a proven track record of driving results." My expertise includes market research and analysis, strategy and planning, communications and campaigns, partnerships and customer loyalty, and all the steps in between. With budgets ranging from next to nothing to over $1 million, my marketing programs work. They generate leads. They grow businesses.

• In July 2009 I was part of a panel on Green Marketing for the New England Women in Energy and the Environment.
• In June 2009 I moderated a session called Differentiation in a Sea of Green at the Green Innovation for Business unconference.
• With my input and direction, especially about server rooms, InfoTech produced this market study: Green IT: Why mid-size companies are investing now.
